Andalucía occupies the most southerly region of the Spanish peninsula
and is famous for it's superb beaches as well as some 300 days a year of sun.
It is also the home of flamenco and sherry and has a rich history
dating back more than 5,000 years from the Stone Age, to the Romans and
then the Moors. It was from here that Columbus sailed to discover the Americas and
in the seas off Cape Trafalgar Nelson defeated the French and Spanish fleets.
In more recent times, Andalucía was the birth place of artist Pablo Picasso,
composer Manuel de Falla and actor Antonio Banderas.
